This year, like many years past, Drapers celebrated the best of the best in fashion retail. From the footwear awards to the digital awards, retailers large and small, and industry leaders as well as new brands were honoured by their peers for their excellence. Here are 2016’s highlights.

Best Use of Innovation went to Bravissimo for the launch of video chat, while New Look scooped the award for Best Use of Content.

Jimmy Choo was the big winner at the Drapers Footwear Awards 2016 on June 30, picking up three awards: Women’s Fashion Brand of the Year, Best Store Design of the Year and Footwear Designer of the Year (sponsored by Schuh), while Ted Baker picked up two: Men’s Fashion Brand and International Business of the Year.

The Winchester-based retailer The Hambledon was crowned Independent Retailer of the Year at the Drapers Independents Awards 2016 which was held at The Brewery in the City of London on September 14. The retailer also won Lifestyle Independent of the Year. Biscuit Clothing won Best New Business, and Mish was named Niche Fashion Retailer of the Year.

In November the 2016 Drapers Awards ceremony was held at Old Billingsgate in London. The award for Best Innovation in Fashion Retail was given to men’s personal styling service Thread, while Best Store Design went to Oasis for its store on Tottenham Court Road, and Native Youth picked up the award for Young Fashion Brand of the Year.
