Ireland’s largest sportswear retailer, Life Style Sports, has invested heavily in experience and technology in its new store in Cork.

The 20,000 sq ft store in the Capitol Building, Patrick Street, is the retailer’s largest to date and features the first multi-sport simulator in the UK and Ireland.

The shop also has interactive kiosks, “charge and chill” zones, a gait analysis lab and a jumper and boot customisation station.

Lifestyle Sports plans on rolling out certain elements to the rest of its 53-store portfolio.

The store layout combines exposed brick, graffiti murals and AstroTurf flooring. There are five key areas in store: a kid’s area that has a “baby’s first trainer” service; a lifestyle trainer section; a women’s studio; a boot room for football, rugby and GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) sports; and the run club, which focuses on performance footwear and clothing.

Mark Stafford, CEO of Life Style Sports, said: ‘’Our new store really disrupts the status quo of the typical sports fashion destination. We are continuing to make significant investment, both in new store locations and refurbishments in current stores nationwide. The store is all about customer experience and we’re adding exciting and innovative new elements to the store. This is a huge milestone for us.”
