Mr Start, the London-based menswear brand and store founded by retail veteran Philip Start, has reopened in Shoreditch – seven months after closing.

The store reopened at 40 Rivington Street in Shoreditch on Friday (March 18) after ceasing to trade in September 2015. Start retained ownership of the store lease, renting it out as a pop-up space in the interim.

It stocks own-label clothing – such as T-shirts, shirts and knitwear – tailoring and accessories, priced from £45 for T-shirts to £900 for a three-piece off-the-peg suit at retail. A bespoke and made-to-measure service for tailoring will also be available.

Start also closed his multibrand womenswear store at numbers 42-44 and multibrand menswear store at 59 Rivington Street in May and July last year respectively when the leases expired. Start said these will not reopen.

Start founded Woodhouse Clothing in the 1970s. The chain grew to 10 UK stores before it was sold to Sir Philip Green for around £3m in 1989.
