Luxury British brand Mulberry has opened its first Asian flagship store in Singapore - despite noting a more challenging environment in Asia earlier this week.
The two floor 3,983 sq ft shop is located at Mandarin Gallery on Orchard Road and features limestone tiled floors, curved timber follies and brass accents.
The store also features its own bespoke characteristics including handcrafted furniture and a silver quartz stone cash desk.
To celebrate the launch Mulberry has created a special limited edition Del Rey handbag, which will initially only be available to customers at its Singapore flagship.
Chief executive Bruno Guillon described the store as a “significant milestone” for Mulberry.
He added: “Designed to house the complete collection of men’s and women’s accessories, women’s ready to wear and shoes, the store includes some unique architectural features from the elegant staircase to the silver quartz stone cash desk.”
This week Mulberry issued a profit warning after a slowdown in wholesale revenues.
In the six months to September 30, wholesale shipments to third parties were down 4% to £30m, as a result of a more challenging environment in Asia. However total revenue rose 6% to £76.5m and retail revenue jumped 13% to £46.5m as like-for-like sales surged 7%.
