Image gallery: Peggs & Son opens second store in Brighton

Premium menswear independent retailer Peggs & Son opened a second store across the road from its existing unit on Brighton’s Duke Street on August 1.

The 400 sq ft store at 5 Duke Street will allow the business to expand from its existing 1,000 sq ft store at number 39, which opened in 2010 after moving from another location in Brighton.

Ian Peggs, who established the business in 2000, said: “We needed more space to allow us to grow our online business and split the collections that are slightly cleaner into the new store [like Officine Generale, Sunspel, Globe-Trotter and Tricker’s].”

He added: “We’re always trying to grow, adding new brands we like, but it has been a tough year so far.”

The new store features a refined, pared back look with original wooden flooring, contemporary and a large geometric light, which acts as a central focal point.

The store stocks brands including Arc’teryx Veilance, Common Projects, Acronym, Neighborhood, Stone Island Shadow Project, Ten C, Norse Projects, Our Legacy, A.P.C., Nike and Globe-Trotter.
