Image gallery: Behind the scenes of Selfridges' astrology-themed Christmas

Selfridges has unveiled its ‘Journey to the Stars’ Christmas theme for 2015.

The astrology theme, which was developed over the course of a year, was inspired by the star in the Christmas nativity. Each window on Oxford Street features a different zodiac sign.

The largest, triple-sided window, at the corner of Oxford Street and Orchard Street, contains a fully-rotating mechanical model of the solar system, made to scale with help from Greenwich Observatory.

The theme continues inside with in-store decorations, including zodiac-themed mannequins on the fashion floors, and an ‘Astrolounge’ on the lower ground floor, in which astrology-themed products are grouped together. Customers can also visit Selfridges’ in-store psychics, the Psychic Sisters.

Personalisation is another key part of Christmas for Selfridges this year, from wrapping paper to bespoke perfume. Personalised jars of Nutella, which attracted big queues last year, now have their own dedicated section.

This year, shoppers can also personalise a mini bottle of Moet champagne.
