IMAGE GALLERY: Topshop opens in Chicago

Fashion giant Arcadia took another step forward internationally with the opening of a flagship Topshop/Topman store on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue.

It is Arcadia’s second statement store in the US, following the retailer’s debut in New York in 2009, and owner Sir Philip Green was there to oversee the opening.

The shop, with about 35,000 sq ft of trading space, has been designed “in the spirit of London’s iconic Oxford Circus store” and the launch includes 100 Topshop lines initially exclusive to Chicago.

Topshop will trade from the cellar and ground floor, and Topman on the floor above. In-store services include personal shopping.

A spokeswoman said: “Topshop/Topman Chicago will boast the same collection of trend-driven pieces, specialised collaborations and bespoke services the both brands have become known for.”

Both the Topshop and Topman sections will boast the same selection of trend-driven pieces, specialised collaborations and bespoke services that the brands have become known for.

The Topshop section will host the Boutique area, featuring 20 premium exclusives across formal trousers, skirts, jackets, bags, as well as 20 exclusive options across knitwear, jersey and blouses.

Casual jackets and puffy jackets will be available in bold brights, exclusive to Chicago while Topshop Dress Up will offer two exclusive styles and dresses will have eight stand-out pieces.

A denim range by MOTO, a vast shoe lounge, and lingerie, petite, tall and maternity will be also available.

In the Topman section the latest trends will be housed within a space that has been given a modern British feel. All of Topman’s collections including Topman
Design, its London Fashion Week catwalk show collection and the Topman Ltd collectionwill be showcased.

Topman have also created some limited edition pieces for the arrival of Topman in Chicago including some very special suiting and outerwear.

The owner of Topshop’s parent company, Arcadia, Sir Philip Green attended the opening together with his daughter Chloe and the pair were also joined by American pop princess Miley Cyrus.
