Zara has opened a new flagship store at the east end of London’s Oxford Street.
The 48,437 sq ft store at 61 Oxford Street is the retailer’s fifth on the street and covers four floors and stocks womenswear, menswear and kidswear. It takes the total number of Zara stores in the UK to 67.
Zara said the new store will reduce energy and consumption by 30% compared with a conventional store, using LED lighting and more energy efficient technology. To ensure it continues to meet the energy reduction targets, its energy use is regulated by a central control centre at Zara headquarters in Arteixo, northwest Spain.
It has a more industrial shop fit than the retailer’s usual style, featuring brushed concrete and exposed ceilings.
