In-Store to cut clothing offer as sales slip

Value chain Instore will continue to streamline its clothing offer, after reporting a slowdown in like-for-like sales. Total like-for-likes rose just 4.1% for the 19 weeks to July 7, against a 7.9% increase for the 11 weeks to May 12. The retailer plans to cut its clothing offer to include only kidswear and basics, as it struggles to compete with value rivals. Clothing accounts for less than 10% of the business.
