Indian etailer Koovs snaps up ex-Asos director as chief executive

Indian etailer Koovs has appointed former Asos director Mary Turner as its new chief executive.

Turner, who has been a non-executive director at Koovs since July 2014, will join Koovs on October 1. She spent four years as a non-executive director at Asos between 2009 and 2013.

The former executive chairman of Koovs Lord Waheed Alli is stepping back from his role following the move and will become chairman.

Koovs is also promoting former Asos product director Robert Bready to the newly created role of chief creative officer. He was previously creative and retail director.

The reshuffle comes as the Aim-listed company prepares to launch another fundraising round to support marketing.

This is the latest in a series of UK directors joining the Indian firm. Roy Naismith, former group finance director at French Connection, left the business in April 2013 after 12 years to take up the chief financial officer position at Koovs.
