A group of fashion industry experts will head up a new body to search for emerging fashion designers across ready-to-wear womenswear and menswear.
The House of Peroni’s Creative Council will comprise designer Jonathan Saunders, Dazed & Confused editor-in-chief Isabella Burley, fashion writer Pandora Sykes, Another Magazine editor Alexander Fury and British Fashion Council consultant Anna Orsini. It forms part of The Fashion Studio, a new initiative launched to discover, mentor and counsel emerging fashion talent across the UK.
The Fashion Studio in London will provide fully equipped studio space and act as an incubator, offering eight new designers a head start in their career, alongside advice and industry contacts. It will be a creative space that hosts regular talks, events and workshops held by industry professionals.
For the duration of their residency, the chosen designers will work towards creating a collection to showcase as a presentation during London Fashion Week in February.
Peroni said the Council has been carefully curated for the different skillsets its members can offer, ensuring the emerging designers receive a wider understanding of the industry, providing key practical advice and commercial support they need to help them grow their own portfolio.
