Ineos snaps up Belstaff

Chemicals giant Ineos has bought British heritage brand Belstaff.

The brand, best known for its motorcycle jackets, was put up for sale in April by former owner JAB Holdings, the investment arm of the billionaire German Reimann family.

Ineos said the acquisition was expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year and that any plans for Belstaff will be announced in due course.

Founded in 1924, Belstaff now employs 200 people worldwide.
