Instore receives takeover approach

Instore, the value retailer, said it had held preliminary talks with a third party about a possible takeover.

Instore said it noted the recent movement in its share price but told shareholders that there was no certainty that an offer would be forthcoming.

Instore said a further announcement would be made in due course.

Instore saw its sales rise 6% to £296.8 million for the 53 weeks to March 1. Operating losses narrowed from £9.1m to £2.3m over the same period.
