Irish retail sales fell back in June

Irish retail sales volumes fell by 5.2% and 1.8% by value in June according to figures from the Central Statistics Office.

However the Central Office for Statistics said that estimated figures for clothing and footwear sales in specialised stores for the month were up 2.6% by value on the previous year. Volumes were also up by 5.1% in June.

Fashion and footwear sales within department stores were down 3%.
