Iron Fist drops European agent

US streetwear label Iron Fist has dropped Jackson Distributor as its European and Russian agent.

Iron Fist owner Black Generation is understood to be forming a new distribution company and is currently establishing a network of agents across Europe.

However, a spokesman for Dorset-based Jackson Distribution claimed Iron Fist had “breached its distribution agreement” by ending the contract early.

Jackson Distribution has been the sole agent for Iron Fist in the UK and European markets since 2004. It created its own lifestyle label, Brakeburn, in 2011 after securing a £1.6m finance facility from HSBC.

A source close to the situation said there were no plans to let staff go, with employees being redirected from the Iron Fist account to Brakeburn.

Iron Fist, headed by the brand owners’ international sales manager, Chris Anderson, will be showing at London Edge in Olympia from September 1 to 3.

Black Generation could not be reached for comment at the time of going to press.
