Following months of speculation US casualwear giant J Crew has announced that its first standalone UK store will be located on London’s Regent Street on the site of the former Burberry flagship.
The 17,000 sq ft development is set to open late next year and work on the site is currently underway.
Once complete, the store will house separate women’s and men’s stores, each with its own dedicated entrance as well as a separate section for Crewcuts, J Crew’s dedicated kidswear fascia.
The store will also offer In Good Company, a collection of brand partnerships chosen by J Crew’s design team.
“London was an easy decision - it’s a place where people understand and respect the integrity of great style and great design,” said J Crew chairman and chief executive Millard Drexler.
“We share this appreciation and are excited to introduce J Crew to more customers throughout the UK.”
The announcement follows months of speculation around where exactly in London the retailer would open its first UK store.
In June Millard Drexler visited the UK to hold a meeting with landlords to decide on a potential location for the store.
