The eponymous founder of Swedish lifestyle brand J Lindeberg is to return to the business eight years after leaving.
Johan Lindeberg, who started the business in 1996, will re-join as a creative consultant in January 2016, based in New York.
Lindeberg was creative director of the brand until 2007. Prior to that he was chief executive of Diesel US from 1994. Since 2007 he has worked as creative director of New York denim brand BLK DNM.
J Lindeberg co-owner Stefan Engström said the news follow a strong period of growth over the last three years, during which turnover has doubled, but did not provide figures.
“Soon we will be going into our 20th year of business, and with this solid foundation we are very excited about having Johan back at the company to contribute to the next step of the brand’s growth.
“It feels like a natural step to close the circle with the re-entrance of the founder of the brand in our journey to becoming the leading international lifestyle brand from Stockholm.”
J Lindeberg, which has three lines - fashion, golf and ski - for men and women, is sold in a number of UK department stores and premium independents including House of Fraser, Harvey Nichols, Psyche menswear and John Anthony.
