Jack Wills drafts in Rob Templeman

Former Debenhams boss Rob Templeman has been appointed as an advisor to Jack Wills, according to the Sunday Times.

The move comes amid reports that founder Peter Williams is to leave the business after a row with private equity owner BlueGem Capital Partners. Cashflow problems and the drop in the value of the pound are said to have let to clashes between Williams and BlueGem.

Templeman led Debenhams for eight years from 2003-2011 and has also chaired the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and Graduate Fashion Week.

Suzanne Harlow, who is consulting at Jack Wills, is expected to replace Williams as chief executive.

  • The nails are being hammered into the coffin, expect a slow death. If it is not to be a strip and run then RT should look over the fence at what Fat Face have achieved under Anthony Thompson, seeing value in the Brand for it's roots and USP rather than value in it's Brand for discounting and selling off the family silver, aka Debenhams.

  • Why are they selecting and spending money on advisers from the 'old school network'? Surely, they need retail innovators that has a grasp on up-to-date technology and trends - especially in their market..
