Jack Wills investor ‘mulls stake sale’

One of Jack Wills’ biggest backers is considering a sale of its stake in the business, it has been reported.

Inflexion Private Equity, which owns 27% of the preppy young fashion chain, has started discussions with city buyout firms, sources have told The Sunday Times.

The private equity firm as held its stake since 2007.

In March this year, the retailer said it will open 10 new stores in the UK and overseas this year after receiving a cash boost from its principal lender, HSBC.

Its founder Peter Williams returned to the business in August last year after a two-year gap.
