Jacket Required: Day two round up

The hottest day of the year didn’t keep buyers away from day two of menswear trade show Jacket Required.

Although the venue was noticeably quieter than the first day, buyers from the likes of department stores Liberty and Selfridges, Urban Outfitters, Asos and Weavers Door kept brands busy.

“It’s been better than the Berlin shows,” said Sam Dormer, founder of brand Collective Noun. “There’s not as much exposure here but I’m seeing and meeting the buyers I want to see.”

“British buyers seem to be taking more of a risk now,” said Lis Eriksson, UK sales manager at Sewn Agency. “Everything is picking up again, it’s not just check shirts and chinos all the time.”

“It was superb,” said Juls Dawson, founder of Just Consultancies. “What I love is the pace and steady flow of people and there’s no pretention here as all brands are on the same level, the garments speak for themselves.”
