Jacobson secures £14m investment for international expansion

Footwear supplier Jacobson Group has secured £14m funding from asset based lending firm Shawbrook Business Credit to fuel its international expansion.

The business, which owns brands including Gola, Frank Wright, Ravel, Lotus and Dolcis, will focus on growing its labels in Europe, the Middle East Far East.

“It depends on the territory and the brand,” marketing manager Donna Hill told Drapers. “For Ravel, for example, we will focus on Europe, while the Far East is a priority for Gola.”

As part of the move Jacobson will “slim down” its private label business in order to focus efforts on the branded side.

It is thought branded product will make up 75% of the business following the move, up from 50%.

Managing director Tony Evans said: “The new business structure and new finance arrangement will allow us to capitalise on the opportunity for UK and international growth.

“Our branded portfolio has huge potential internationally given its diversity in both category and consumer profile. Our medium term strategy will see us present with these brands in new territories across the globe.”
