British womenswear business Jacques Vert Group has given a sneak preview of its premium brand, Planet London, which will launch in the US this August.
The Planet London autumn 14 outerwear collection will be available via Lord and Taylor for the Autumn from August 1 and comprises 20 items including quilted jackets, padded coats, parkas with faux-fur trims and wool coats with faux shearling linings. All pieces will be designed in the UK.
Its full autumn 14 collection will be available from September, with retail prices from $398 to $798 (£234 to £469). Sizes run from XS to XL.
Jacques Vert traditionally caters to the older shopper, but Teresa Tideman, the group’s chief executive, said Planet London was aimed at “stylish women of all ages”.
Of the outerwear collection, she said: “It fills what we believe to be a void in the market for fashionable, wearable, well-priced outerwear, and we are committed to building Planet London as a compelling brand to satisfy this need.”
As Drapers reported last month, Jacques Vert is discontinuing its Minuet Petite and Alexon brands this year to focus on its “core brands”, Jacques Vert, Precis Petite, Kaliko, Planet, Windsmoor, Eastex and Dash.
