Jacques Vert has appointed Gillian Berkmen and Jessica Burley to its board as non-executive directors.
The two appointments to the womenswear house, which owns the Jacques Vert, Planet, Windsmoor and Precis brands, follow confident predictions for its full-year results.
Berkmen is currently group brand and commercial director of Mothercare, responsible for the company’s Mothercare and Early Learning Centre brands. She played a key role in the acquisition of Early Learning Centre in 2007 and in recent changes to Mothercare’s service offer, which helped fuel strong interim results posted earlier today.
Before joining Mothercare, Berkmen spent several years in fashion retail, working for companies including Miss Selfridge, Bhs and River Island.
Jessica Burley is managing director of The National Magazine Company, which publishes titles including Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. She also sits on the council of the Audit Bureau of Circulations.
Jacques Vert chairman Steve Bodger said: “We are delighted to welcome Gillian and Jessica to the Jacques Vert board. They bring with them a wealth of diverse and relevant experience from high-profile and complementary organisations. We very much look forward to working with them and to the contribution they will bring.”
