Jacques Vert names new brand director for Windsmoor

Jacques Vert has named Jane Stott as brand director of its classic womenswear brand Windsmoor.

Stott was hired in September 2008 as brand director of the group’s Planet brand. She now has responsibility for both brands and will drive both their repositionings. Stott replaces Alex Warner who was brand director of Windsmoor.

Stott will reposition Windsmoor, which produces mainstream womenswear in sizes 10 to 24, for a younger demographic. She will update its image with statement pieces and a more contemporary handwriting.

Since her appointment at Planet, Stott has also been repositioning the brand towards a younger demographic, in line with Jacques Vert’s plans to broaden its target market.

Jacques Vert, which also owns the Precis Petite and Jacques Vert labels, reported a group pre-tax loss of £2.9m for the year to April 25, down from a £4.3m profit in 2008. The group attributed this to costs incurred from coming out of onerous leases and restructuring.

In April, Jacques Vert managing director for womenswear, Shena MacDonald left the business.
