Jake Shoes opens third store in Altrincham

Footwear independent Jake Shoes has opened its third store in Altrincham in Greater Manchester.

The shop is the business’ largest store to date at 3,000 sq ft. It is twice the size of its shop in Manchester’s Arndale shopping centreand is located on central shopping route George Street.

The store features “urban” and “industrial-style” décor including repurposed church pews as seating for customers and French wooden furniture instead of traditional shoe shelving. Aeroplane seats and a pool table also sit in the men’s area.

Jake Shoes’ other store is located in Stockport.

Jake Bland, managing director of Jake Shoes, said: “Business has been good, so we fancied doing a third one and looked around for a long time for a town that didn’t have many shoe shops – or not many busy ones at least. There aren’t many independents here right in the centre.

“I’m happy with it, though it’s new so it’ll take time to build.”
