James Dracup leaves Johnstons of Elgin

James Dracup, the managing director of Scottish knitwear firm Johnstons of Elgin, has left the business after 12 years.

It is understood that Dracup, who has been managing director since May 2009, left the company in the last two weeks to “pursue other business interests”.

A replacement for Dracup is yet to be appointed, with the company’s financial director, Chris Gaffney, stepping up on an interim basis.

Dracup has been involved in the textile industry for more than 40 years.
