January Sales drive fashion growth at John Lewis

John Lewis has reported a 9.2% spike in fashion sales for the week to 7 January, as shoppers snapped up bargains in the Sale.

Discounted womenswear products were up 17.9%, while women’s accessories were up 10.9%. Menswear was up 10.4% compared to the same week last year.

Total sales across all categories, including home and electricals, were up 3.9% to £103.4m. Clearance ends on 15 January.
