Jason Eames-Illingworth joins Hunter to lead UK sales push

Hunter has appointed Jason Eames-Illingworth as its UK and Ireland country manager from November 4.

Eames-Illingworth was most recently country manager of Replay UK, which he joined in August 2010, and before that he was UK and Ireland commercial director at Wrangler from 2007 to 2010. He previously spent eight years at Tommy Hilfiger as the UK country manager.

Eames-Illingworth will be responsible for the development and growth of the UK and Ireland wholesale business for Hunter Original, the new lifestyle brand launched at London Fashion Week in February.

James Seuss, chief executive of Hunter, said: “Jason’s appointment comes at a key time for Hunter, as we grow the Hunter Original category and build on the incredible reaction to our London Fashion Week shows. His experience working with Replay, Wrangler and Tommy Hilfiger and his relationships with retailers will enable us to maximise the opportunities that we believe exist for the brand, both in footwear, and apparel and accessories.”

Eames-Illingworth added: “I am really looking forward to working with the team and with retailers to deliver the new and innovative product offering within the collection to the end consumer, whilst expanding the existing footwear business.”

The move follows the announcement that the company had increased its turnover by 9.8% last year to £81.7m. Profit on ordinary activities before tax was up 7.4% to £14.6m in the year to December 31, 2013.
