JD Sports Fashion has appointed Heather Jackson, as an independent non-executive director of the company.
Jackson was hired as she has an “extensive experience in IT”. Currently, she is a non-executive director of Swedish bank Ikano, for which she also chairs the remuneration and IT committees. In addition to this, she co-founded and jointly runs a change management company, Actinista Limited.
Her former roles have also included chief information officer of banking and insurance firm HBOS and other director level roles with Capital One, Boots the Chemist, and George at Asda.
Peter Cowgill, executive chairman at JD Sports, said: “Heather’s skills in the field of IT and change management will enhance the strength of our board in an area which is very important to the delivery of our growth plans.”
