JD Sports Fashion launches "Get the label" discount site

JD Sports Fashion has gone head to head with M and M Direct and launched a website Getthelabel.com selling sports and fashion brands at up to 65% off.

Getthelabel.com sells clearance and end of line clothing and footwear from brands including Adidas, Fred Perry, Lacoste, Bench, Timberland, Nike and Firetrap, at a significant discount. JD Sports Fashion will also send out a mail order catalogue under the Get The Label brand.

“The website and catalogue will offer customers significant savings on fashion and footwear for all the family and as such complements JD’s aim to provide the best in sports fashion to all its customers.”

Peter Cowgill, chairman, JD Sports Fashion

JD Sports Fashion said that Getthelabel.com was aimed at busy young families.

JD Sports Fashion chairman Peter Cowgill said: “The website and catalogue will offer customers significant savings on fashion and footwear for all the family and as such complements JD’s aim to provide the best in sports fashion to all its customers.”

“Our expertise in buying for the fashion and sports market means you won’t find similar savings on such a wide range of active fashion and sports brands anywhere else.”

Getthelabel.com is a division of sports wholesaler Topgrade Sportswear, which JD Sports Fashion bought around 18 months ago.

The company also owns the JD, Bank and Scotts high street chains.

JD Sports Fashion is expected to report pre-tax profits of around £50 million at its full year results on Wednesday, up 32% on the previous year.
