Jil Sander confirms new creative directors

Jil Sander has appointed Lucie and Luke Meier as creative directors, replacing Rodolfo Paglialunga.

The women’s spring 18 collection will be the first to be created by the new husband-and-wife design duo.

Lucie worked with the Louis Vuitton team under Marc Jacobs and Balenciaga under the direction of Nicolas Ghesquière, before joining Dior as head designer of women’s haute couture and ready-to-wear.

After Raf Simons’ departure from Dior, she became co-creative director and led the development of five collections in this role.

Luke, meanwhile, spent eight years as head designer of Supreme in New York and co-founded menswear label OAMC, which he will continue to run alongside his work at Jil Sander.

Jil Sander announced earlier this month that Paglialunga had left after three years.
