Jil Sander to leave her eponymous label

Designer Jil Sander is to leave her eponymous label for the third time.

According to reports Sander is leaving for personal reasons. Sander returned to the designer label in February 2012 after an eight year absence, replacing former creative director Raf Simons.

Her last collection was the spring 14 range, which was shown in Milan in September. A replacement for Sander has not been announced and the autumn 14 collection will be designed by the brand’s in-house team.

In a statement Jil Sander chief executive Alessandro Cremonesi thanked Sander “for her remarkable contribution” to the brand.

He added: “Her outstanding design and creative leadership have been crucial in reinforcing the brand and positioning it to foster further prosperous growth.”
