Job vacancies fall following introduction of living wage

UK companies are hiring fewer staff following the introduction of the national living wage on April 1, according to jobs website Indeed.

There was a 9% drop in the number of vacancies listed on jobs website Indeed in April, compared to the same period last year, according to its latest report.

The decline began in March and accelerated in April.

Indeed said uncertainty caused by the upcoming EU referendum had also had an impact on hiring.
