John Egan to leave SSG

John Egan, chief operating officer of Shoe Studio Group, is to step down, 18 months after the business was acquired by Mosaic Fashions.

Amanda Burrows, previously brand director for Whistles, will act as interim managing director until a replacement is found. Egan, who will remain a shareholder in Mosaic Fashions, will stay at SSG until March 2008.

Egan told Drapers that he was ready to take on a fresh a challenge after completing the integration of SSG into Mosaic Fashions.

Egan said: "The past eight years have been an incredible journey. With a strong brand portfolio and the opportunities for cross-fertilization across the Group, the management team at the Shoe Studio are in an excellent position to take the business forward. I feel the time is right in my career to explore new ventures."

Mosaic Fashions chief exceutive Derek Lovelock added: "John managed the successful integration of the Shoe Studio Group into the Mosaic business. We would like to thank him for his commitment and wish him well with all his future endeavours."

Egan joined SSG in 1999 but took over as chief operating officer in November 2006 when the business, which is part of Rubicon Retail, was acquired by Mosaic Fashions.
