Fashion sales at John Lewis surged 3.4% year-on-year for the week to 26 May, with good growth across all categories
Summer accessories had its strongest week so far this year, with sales soaring 28%. Sales of menswear jumped 9.9%.
The retailer said womenswear accessories had a “good week” with turnover up 12.2%. Own brand womenswear sales rose 2.2%, compared to the previous year.
Total sales for the week were also up 3.4% year-on-year, which John Lewis said was due to customers buying products for the bank holiday weekend and taking advantage of promotions and competitor price matching.
