John Lewis fashion sales rise

Fashion sales at John Lewis and Partners increased by 4.4% last week helped by the cooler weather prompting demand for warmer clothing.

Womenswear sales saw an increase of 8.9% in the week to 6 October, while menswear was up 3% on the same week last year.

Total sales remained similar to last year with only 0.1% increase.
