John Lewis will introduce a heritage-inspired suiting line to its John Lewis & Co menswear range in September.
The six suit designs feature vintage-inspired details, such as side adjusters and notch back details on trousers and working cuffs on suit jackets.
Available online and in 10 stores including Oxford Street, prices will be set at the slightly higher price point of between £250 for a two-piece and £350 for a three-piece suit.
John Lewis has marked its 150th birthday this year by overhauling its entire menswear offering, with its other lines, Kin and John Lewis Man, also refreshed for autumn 14.
Kin features a slimmer fit and minimalist design, while John Lewis Man showcases classic English tailoring. Each of the three collections feature details such as cutaway collars on poplin shirts and suede trims on jackets.
A Kin two-piece single-breasted suit costs £159, while a John Lewis Man three-piece single-breasted suit is £280.
Nick Keyte, head of buying menswear at John Lewis, said: “The autumn/winter collection is a true expression of where contemporary heritage stands in modern menswear. Each collection is an expression of a very different look for the stylish man.”
