John Lewis mid-week sales rise 12%

John Lewis has reported sales up 12% from Sunday to Wednesday this week, with a strong performance across both its stores and website.

Key highlights include lingerie and Just Sheepskin slippers, with a pair of the slippers sold every minute and sales up 84%on last week.

David Barford, director of selling operations for John Lewis, said: “This week has begun really well with sales up 12% and strong growth from both our shops and online channels. We look forward with confidence to the rest of the week, provided the weather does not affect trading towards the weekend.”
