John Lewis is on track for a September launch of its new store in Chelmsford, Essex.
The retailer has taken control of the site from Aquila, which is developing the new Bond Street shopping centre, where the 90,000 sq ft store will be located.
The store, which represents an £18m investment for John Lewis, will offer more than 65,000 fashion, beauty, home and electrical products, as well as an optician, beauty treatment room, foreign exchange bureau and home hub for its interior design services.
The Bond Street shopping centre will also feature The White Company, Joules, Jack Wills and Fat Face.
”We have had an ambition to open a shop in Essex for some time now, and the Bond Street development couldn’t be a better proposition for us,” said John Lewis branch manager Laura Rawston. “We are delighted to reach this milestone, with everything currently on track for a September opening.’”
