The revamped Central shopping centre in Birmingham will open on September 24 with a four-floor 250,000 sq ft John Lewis.
The £35m store anchors the 500,000 sq ft £150m centre, which is undergoing an overhaul as part of the redevelopment of New Street train station, due to be completed on the same date.
John Lewis joins more than 60 stores and restaurants set to open at the new site including Jacques Vert, The White Company, Hobbs, Joules and Cath Kidston.
Lisa Williams, head of branch at John Lewis Birmingham, said: “The look and feel of Grand Central will create an exciting and vibrant environment for shoppers and commuters with a stunning atrium interior that will see the shops and restaurants surrounding the magnificent New Street station concourse.
“Interactive internal displays will allow visitors to explore not just the centre but also other attractions in the city and the customer service will be second to none with all staff having undergone a world-leading customer service programme.”
