John Lewis sees fashion sales boost

Fashion sales at John Lewis rose by 7.4% year-on-year for the week ending 12 May. 

Sales of menswear rose by 10.4% and sales of womenswear were up 9.3% compared to the same week in 2017 as customers bought clothing for the warmer weather and took advantage of price matches on competitor promotions.

The partnership also reported a record week for linen garments which saw sales up 108% on the same week last year. For the financial year to date John Lewis reported that sales of fashion were marginally ahead of 2017, up 1.8%.
