John Lewis weekly online fashion sales record double-digit growth

John Lewis has reported sales increased by 3.5% to £70.3m, with all fashion buying groups recording double-digit growth online during the week to February 21.

The top performers across this group were babywear, which was up 21%, jewellery which grew by 14.5% and nursery up by 13.4%.

Overall fashion sales, across both stores and online, were up by 5.8% year on year, and increased by 6.4% for the first three weeks of the financial year.

The Croydon At Home store recorded a 5.6% increase, followed by Stratford City up 5.5% and Exeter up by 4.7%.

“With winter on the way out, our increased focus turns to spring and we look forward to welcoming refreshed seasonal trade,” said Barry Matheson, director of retail services.
