Former Michael Kors menswear president Mark Brashear has joined US menswear brand John Varvatos as president and chief executive.
Brashear, who spent a year and a half at Michael Kors, was previously chairman and chief executive of Hugo Boss in America between 2009 and 2014. Before that he was president of French womenswear and menswear brand Façonnable for 7 years.
He replaces Cristiano Quieti, who left the business in November.
Brashear is tasked with growing John Varvatos in the US and internationally online and through bricks-and-mortar.
In August, Varvatos told Drapers he was on the lookout for a second UK store, to add to its existing location on Conduit Street in London.
He also revealed plans to grow UK wholesale with high-profile department stores and luxury boutiques beyond its existing three major accounts, including Matchesfashion.com.
The 10,000 sq ft Conduit Street flagship is the largest in a 20-store portfolio spanning the US, Canada, Mexico and Thailand.
In addition to a mainline and diffusion clothing range, John Varvatos has a long-running footwear collaboration with US trainer brand Converse. It also sells jewellery, accessories and fragrances.
