US menswear designer John Varvatos will show his spring 2016 collection at the inaugural New York Fashion Week: Men’s in July, marking his return to the city after seven years showing in Milan.
Varvatos will show alongside the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Michael Kors at the bi-annual event, which will take place at Skylight Clarkson Square in SoHo, Manhattan, on July 13-16.
Varvatos said showing in Milan had allowed the brand to gain a global audience and was a boost for international growth, but he decided to return to New York after opening a store in his hometown of Detroit last month.
John Varvatos launched his brand in 2000. Today it sells clothing, footwear, and accessories as well as a Converse by John Varvatos footwear collaboration through 21 stores worldwide. In August 2014 John Varvatos opened his first European store in London’s Mayfair area on Conduit Street.
