Johnstons appoints managing director

Scottish knitwear firm Johnstons of Elgin has promoted James Dracup to managing director.

Dracup has worked at Johnstons for eight years and has been in the fashion industry for 30 years.

He replaces James Sugden, who has moved to head up the Hawick knitwear operation.

Sugden said: “James Dracup is a first-class man with a proven track record and this appointment marks the culmination of a succession plan that the board has been working on for some time. I will continue, from Hawick, to play my part in the company’s progress.”
