Footwear firms Jones Bootmaker and Brantano UK have outsourced their warehousing and store deliveries to DHL and are preparing to move the joint head office to a bigger unit in Hinckley.
The businesses closed their warehouse in Coalville, Leicestershire, at the end of July and have moved to the DHL facility in Hams Hall near Birmingham.
Joint chief executive David Short said this would bring “considerable efficiencies” to their logistics processes, while maintaining high standards. The decision to move was made in early May and completed within 10 weeks.
The head office will move from Coalville to a new 20,000 sq ft office space in Hinckley, which is about 15 miles away, this weekend.
Short said the new offices will provide “much improved working conditions” for staff, and allow it to create mock shop environments to test new product layouts and visual merchandising.
“The last three months have been hugely challenging as we have planned and executed both the logistics and office moves but it is establishing a terrific platform for the future of both brands,” he told Drapers.
Jones Bootmaker and Brantano UK are owned by Alteri Investors.
