Joseph appoints new creative director and CEO

Joseph has appointed former Givenchy head designer, Susana Clayton, as creative director and Marni’s former global wholesale director, Barbara Campos, as CEO.

Prior to her role at the Parisian fashion house, Clayton was senior designer at Chloe and held design director roles with both Gap and Rag & Bone in New York.

She will join Joseph in October and will be responsible for the house’s womenswear and menswear autumn 19 collection, following the departure of Louise Trotter.

Campos, meanwhile, was previously executive vice president at Diane von Furstenberg and managing director of Furla France and Germany.

Hirosuke Takagi, who she replaces at Joseph, will assume the newly created position of chairman.

Clayton said: “I look forward to embracing the brand’s origins and to realign it with Joseph Ettedgui’s vision, creating a balance between fashion and a timeless wardrobe of luxury essentials.”

Takagi said: “We are delighted to welcome Susana and Barbara to Joseph. Each brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the brand and I am certain they will build on Joseph’s success to date.”
