The archive of designer Joyce Ridings, who passed away in April, has been placed up for sale by accountancy firm Mazars.
The bulk of Riding’s remaining stock has already been sold in a closing down sale at her store, just off Manchester’s King Street, which closed on April 27.
Tim Askham, restructuring services partner in Manchester office of Mazars, is handling the company’s liquidation. He said: “Remaining stock has been flying off the racks as loyal customers have been rushing to the shop’s closing down sale.
“We’ve been instructed only this week and it was no surprise to find there was virtually no stock left. The customers have done that bit of our usual job for us.”
“Although the garments are virtually gone, what does survive are, we understand, several hundred of Joyce’s designs and patterns stretching back probably more than ten years. We think these will be of interest to the fashion trade and we would invite potential buyers to contact us for more details.”
Ridings passed away last month after a long battle with cancer.
