Manchester womenswear agent JS Levy has ramped up its portfolio with Marcelino, a contemporary Spanish brand with a full wardrobe collection including day, evening and outerwear, basics, denim and tailoring.
The brand, owned by 89-year old company Tecnocon which has its roots in manufacturing, is making its UK debut.
The agency took the brand on in time for autumn 09 but is plotting a more extensive push for spring 10, which will include taking a stand at London womenswear trade show Pure as well as a sustained marketing campaign.
Marcelino’s 250-piece range includes printed dresses, down-filled outerwear and tailored separates.
JS Levy owner Neil Hodgkinson said the brand’s personality is youthful with quirky touches. Hodgkinson took the brand on late in the cycle for autumn 09 and opened 30 accounts. “We took it on with the understanding that there may not even be one account for autumn, but the retailers that saw it in the showroom have bought into it,” he said.
Prices range from £25 to £30 for tops to £100 for outerwear.
