K-Way opens first UK store in Shoreditch

French outerwear brand K-Way has opened its first UK store in London’s Shoreditch.

The new two floor 870 sq ft store is located at 117 Commercial Street beside Spitalfields Market.

The store was designed and developed by the brand’s in-house retail design team at K-Way’s UK brand licensee GLD Group and features minimalist white walls.

“We now have the opportunity to build on K-Way’s current success in the UK,” said Simon Bamber, chief executive of London based multi-brand operator GLD Group.

“We are already working with some of the finest retailers in the country and, with the correct investment in infrastructure, marketing and retail, we plan for K-Way to scale up in terms of distribution, own retail presence and price architecture.”

GLD Group is looking to open additional units in London and other UK cities in 2015 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year by collaborating with a yet-to-be-named British designer.

In the UK, K-Way has 75 stockists including Urban Outfitters, Size and Asos, alongside independent retailers Aspecto, Triads, The Hip Store and Stuarts London.
